Decisions, Decisions

Here is the post I was going to publish… BUT.. I’m sure I am not the only one who struggles sometimes. Too many choices? This is certainly the problem when you strike out on your own. When you can’t just follow a pattern and follow instructions. I’m sure it will be fine in the end, but I have just added another UFO to my list!

Anna Maria Parry Horner inspired me!

I’m in the mood for something different. And I love AMP’s quilts. She uses the X shape in a number of her quilts and I love them all.

The one in the centre really appeals to me, so here we go!

I have an Accuquilt cutter now and can cut an endless supply of of 1 /2″ blocks (finish at 1″) and 2 1/2″ blocks (finish at 2″), so that makes it a much easier project to take on.

2 ” squares become 4″ blocks..

And a ton of 1″ squares sewn

Wow, so gorgeous!

I was thinking of the plus shape, as it would certainly be easier, but I am SO attracted to the X!

So how to fill the empty spaces? this is a typical dilemma for me. I love what Anna Maria did with hers, but none of them are really “me”. toyed with some large appliquéd leaves.. but this didn’t really appeal to me.

So it goes into storage until inspiration hits.

Meanwhile, back at the Accuquilt cutter again!

I cut more random blocks, these end up at 1 1/2″ final. I started piecing them together, and- oh, no! I need to make ANOTHER decision.

I like the quieter vibe of the 4 patches shown below, but in the long run adding some brighter colours might look good too. I guess I’ll have to make a few more blocks before making THAT decision.

I like including the brighter blocks and it seems more like you!
