Evolution of a quilt design

I have a lot of Kaffe Fassett fabric that I love, and almost hate to use. But I had decided it is time to work through my fabric collection.. This would definitely be a tumbler quilt, and if I love it I may use it as an example in the tumbler workshops I am working on.

Here are some of the test layouts I did…

And here is the final layout. This is the second tumbler quilt I have made using mostly Kaffe fabrics. I quilted this one with curved ribbons, a la Jacquie Gering. Just need to add the binding!

Here they are, side by side. The new quilt is smaller in size, but just as impactful!
