Novelties Part Two

I am one of those people who cannot resist those modern novelty fabrics. Brightly coloured, with images of typewriters, glasses, apples, tea cups, Coca-Cola and more! What was I waiting for? I decided it was time to start using them. Since tumbler quilts are so easy for me to make now, I decided to use this simple pattern to play with my fabrics.

It is such a grey, gloomy day today, but I have now finished piecing this quilt, and seeing it hanging outside really does brighten my day! This is a pretty busy -and happy!- quilt, and it really could use a very simple all over quilting design.

At first glance you might think it is just a random assortment of colours. But no, I did limit my colour palette. In the image below, right, I have circled what I consider to be the neutral fabrics. White, beige, greys, often with a small amount of colour on them. What you are left with are yellow and golds, light and dark pinks, and turquoise fabrics sets. This will be a fun quilt to cuddle under!
