I am so excited about this new project. I’ve thought about it for a while, but way TOO busy preparing for my book launch in a few weeks. I finally spent some time with my fabrics, cutting blocks and thinking in a bit more detail how I wanted it to look. Here is what I have so far..

My inspiration is all those lovely sunsets you see with peach, pink, soft orange fading to inky purples and blacks.

Another source of inspiration for this colour combination comes from those images of Indian women in brightly coloured saris.

My plan is to keep cutting suitable fabrics and sorting them.. it will be a while before this appears on my design wall. The is going to be an abstraction, made with tumbler blocks (of course!!). How big it will be depends on how many of the “right” fabrics I can dig up. This is the most fun part of a project for me.
Meanwhile… by book “Tumbler Quilts: Just One Shape, Endless Possibilities” should be available for purchase after October 25th. I will definitely post more about this when my copies arrive! This has been a very fulfilling project for me.. for where to purchase, go to Amazon, Chapters Indigo. BookShop, Barnes and Noble, C&T Publishing, etc. and search for Valerie Prideaux.
