Playing with Colour

I love monochromatic quilts.. my fabric is (mostly) sorted by colour, so just opening one of my boxes is enough to make me itching to make something!

Here is an example of a monochromatic quilt I made, which is in my book, Tumbler Quilts: Just One Block, Endless Possibilities. I have SO many projects on the go, but would love to make this is another colourway. Not sure which colour yet, too many choices!

There are many examples of monochromatic quilts in my book. Obviously I am drawn to this simple way to explore colour.

Here are a few others… and yes, they are all tumbler quilts! I have a pattern on my Etsy shop for the red and white quilt. I’ve also made this in blue but really you can just use all your favourite fabrics and it would look fabulous. White is a neutral, so I think it fits into the monochromatic category. Am I stretching the definition too far?

Here are a few others… OK, the green may not be monochromatic, but it is one of my favourite tumbler quilts I have made. I had to include the orange tumbler, because I love seeing my cat sprawled all over it!
