Meeting Kaffe at Festival of Quilts

What a whirlwind the past few months have been. I’ve been to 4 major quilt shows: QuiltCon in Raleigh, NC, H&H America in Chicago, Quilt Canada in Edmonton AB, and finally, Festival of Quilts in Birmingham UK.

I did book signings at each of these, and met so many wonderful people. It is fun to meet people who have purchased my book and wanted to meet me. I may even do a few ZOOM presentations to the UK and beyond! Quilting really is a craft that brings people together.

I entered 2 quilts into the Festival of Quilts (nervously waiting for them to be shipped back!) and met Kaffe Fassett. I had to photoshop him in front of my quilt, but he shook my hand and told me my quilt and the way I used his fabric blew him away. Can’t wait to see his new line of striped fabrics coming soon!

The show was huge, and I am know I didn’t see every quilt or every vendor. I have posted a ton of photos from the Festival of Quilts, so if you want to see some of my favourites, head over to Instagram @cozyfunkycool

It has been exciting, but I am happy to be home and absorb everything I have seen, and decide what direction I would like my quilting to go. I did buy a lot of embroidery projects and Indian block stamps and will be incorporating them into future works. Stay tuned!
