I just got back from a few days in Montreal, playing tourist and spending time with my brother. Montreal is my hometown, and a great place to visit in the summer. We went to some great restaurants as well all our old neighbourhoods, old Montreal, Atwater Market, and lots of other fun places. He had found a cool quilt shop, a tiny place stuffed with great things. I really don’t need more fabric, and wasn’t going to be tempted, but I did find some great embroidery kits. I have started doing embroidery as a great way to relax and sink into the moment, but not really into the more traditional designs.

The kits I got are from a Nova Scotia company called HookLine&Tinker, and it was tough to choose just one- so I got two! So happy to support a Canadian business. Check Craft de Ville out- the owner is in the centre of the photo, WAY in the back! I completed the first kit already.. a real advantage of travelling by train. Painted the frame black.

Another favourite spot to find great embroidery kits is Dropcloth Samplers, also available through her Etsy shop. I’ve completed the one on the left, now to tackle the one on the right!
