This week I sent out a newsletter about AnaPaula Brasil (aka @canadapaulabrasil), a woman of many talents. Years ago, when she needed to get quilts quilted in a hurry- she bought a long arm, installed it in her living room and learned to quilt on it. When she needed professional photos of her quilts- she bought the equipment and took them herself. She now owns a quilt shop, teaches, and designs her own fabrics and quilts. When I posted about her on Instagram, one of the members of my quilt guild sent me a photo of her self-portrait, made after a class with AnaPaula.
Here is what Diane told me…. I took a class with her at Quilt Canada 2019 in Ottawa, and made this quilt, I entered it in the EQG 2022 hall challenge. At the time AnaPaula said she was planning to offer a confetti portrait quilt class in the next Quilt Canada (2020) in Toronto.. which I planned to take. Got cancelled with COVID but I’d give it a try again. I saw her at Quilts at the Creek too. Her portraits are amazing.
Thanks, Diane!
