Since lockdown, I only get to see my granddaughter (and now I have two!!) outdoors and six feet away, or via ZOOM. To make our interactions fun, I have started preparing simple crafts that we can do via computer. One of the projects I made was a colouring book for her, based on photos I had taken, and featuring her and her family. Here are a few examples:

I kept looking at these photos and thinking how they would be a fun art/quilt project for me. I started with the middle one, which I have titled Mom’s Boots. I pieced and quilted the background, then used MistyFuse for the image of the child. A little stitching around everything with black thread, and done! I may tackle the photo on the right some day, as it the two of us at the very last Quilts at the Creek. And they do grow up quickly!
